This magnificent moutain is technically part of the Andes mountain range, but the Paine Massif is considerd an independent mountain formation with quite unique characteristics. Here 12 million years of sedimentary layers of the earth are lifted up and slowly worn down by glacial erosion. This has resulted in this epic granite massif.
