Yet another image from the amazing Dead Vlei in Namibia. I love the silvery black camel thorn trees standing infront of this massive naturally saturated red sand dune. Love the contrasts. Scientists believe that these sun scorched trees died 600–700 years ago (ca. 1340-1430) Though not truly petrified, the wood does not decompose because it is so dry.
